Home Decor
Home decor isn't always about decorating the inside of the house. Home decor, whether you're aiming for country home decor or colonial home decor, includes inside and outside decor, especially parts that are an extension of your house, including the garden, patio, and roof. While many types of home decor items are available for vintage and modern home decor, items are only part of designing your home. Having an image in mind beforehand of how you would like to design your home is important and items and design techniques can aid in achieving your design vision. No one decor is correct for your home, although the decor from the inside to the outside should stay consistent. For example, if you have an idea for Victorian home decor in mind, don't start with Victorian home decor on the inside and change to colonial home decor on the outside of the house.
Patio decor is an extension of home decor with light in mind. In the cases a garden is in the same vicinity as the patio, including the garden in with patio decor is recommended. Patio home decor shouldn't be too opulent, even if you have luxury home decor in mind, and the main goal, especially for decor at night, is to have light and warmth in the area. Light can highlight certain design aspects of the patio, certain plants in your garden, and can be used to light a path or doorway for safety reasons. While one common way of incorporating light into patio decor is with bulb fixtures, another way is with oil lamps, including patio oil lamps, torches, and fire domes - all copper or steel structures that use fire and oil to create warmth and light. The main benefit of independent metal lamps is mobility, as they can be placed anywhere in various arrangements around the patio and by plants in the garden.
Copper is a metal used often for luxury home decor outside and, aside from copper oil lamps, the material is used for other decorations. For the immediate patio area, copper and bronze are used for wall art to accent the patio area and create lasting artistic images for the outdoors. Some of these pieces of home decor can be copper or bronze wall art in various nature patterns, as well as outdoor clocks and thermometers. On an aesthetic level, these metals can have a variety of patterns to accent your space, from an aged, hammered patina to a smooth, polished metallic surface.
Copper is a common material used for garden decor items, which are typically decorative and an extension of the decor used in the patio area, if the two are in proximity. Some options for decorating a garden with copper items include copper pots for plants and hoses, windchimes, garden stakes, leaderheads, and rain chains. Some of these items, such as leaderheads and rain chains, are copper decor items for making the rain water running off your house into your garden more decorative and pleasing to look at.
Copper is durable outdoors and changes its color over time. For roof decor, copper has long been a material used for roof items used for both decorative and practical purposes. In fact, many roof items now part of Victorian and colonial home decor started out as practical items made from copper and have become, generally, decorative, including weathervanes and cupolas. Other decorative items for a roof include finials, which are designed with copper and attach to a cupola.
Impress your houseguests with your own unique style of home decor out on the patio, on your roof, and in your garden. Ornament your garden, roof, and patio with polished and natural copper home decor pieces that not only accent certain aspects of your house but will last for several years, as well.
